Status update:

  • Both sensors are still going since May 18, 2017. (smile)
  • Started LEaRN Wordpress site
  • We need to start thinking when and where we would deploy our next prototypes, and what sensors those prototypes will include.
 Hardware

Status update:

  • Mobile sensor plans (Alghamdi, Taghreed (LEARN))
  • Hardware status:
    • Low-cost PM sensors, 4 ordered from DF Robot
      • Received - not yet communicating
    • Aeroqual higher quality O3 sensors, 6 total ordered
      • Received - not yet communicating
    • Alphasense higher quality PM sensors, 5 ordered
      • Received - not yet communicating
  • Temperature/Humidity/Pressure sensor
    • Successfully receiving data
  • Case
    • Polycase might not work with us
    • Looking into alternatives in case plans fall through
    • Will either go with Polycase or another vendor by Thursday June 8th.
  • Inventory Management
    • Ridgeway, Terysa (CGI) has started prototyping an inventory system
      • Possible to use JIRA (waiting on svc desk)
      • In the mean time starting a table in Confluence to get started.
 Firmware and device management

Status update:

  • Comeaux, Justin M (CGI Federal) and Krulick, Daniel (CGI Federal) are meeting to talk about how to read data from new sensors
    • Finished code for Temp, Pressure, and Humidity (BME 280, Adafruit), and Temp. and Humidity (DHT11) sensors
    • DF Robot PM2.5 sensor driver available through Intel UPM.
    • Begin coding high-end sensors. (06/07/2017)
    • Meeting 6/7/2017 to work on further sensors
  • Documentation of sensor deployment
    • Will document disabling of Wifi and Bluetooth (06/07/2017) Miles, Brian (CGI Federal), I will make you a notifier for you to review it.
 API

Status update:

  • Service-driven paging
    • 80% complete, will be done by end of this week.
 Visualization and Use Cases

Status update:

  • Ridgeway, Terysa (CGI) reached out to Carlee to schedule a visit to review data/data sets that are available
  • Using the Thingsboard.io application as a basis for dashboard prototyping
  • Awaiting traffic data from LCG - current LA DOTD data is only done annually, or every 3-5 years
  • Use cases:
    • Added details to use cases
    • Began wire framing/prototypes of dashboards to support specific use cases.
    • Will e-mail LCG re. data access tomorrow/Wed.

  • LEaRN website
    • We need to develop, by July 1st, a LEaRN website, hosted on Azure, that serves as a landing page to the project
      • Need to register a domain name
      • Set up a web server is Azure
      • Add content from proposal as a project description section.

  ArchitectureChepudira, Karthik (CGI Federal) 
  • Setup a virtual sensor in the API - Manually (Postman)
  • Created Azure Iot Hub and setup devices
    • Created script for automation of device creation from the API
  • Created a sample Azure function(c#) for processing Iot events
    • The function talks to API and creates observations
  • Created a MQTT broker (Azure VM) using mosquitto and bridged to Azure Iot Hub
  • Created POC for end-to-end of a simulated sensor (Virtual sensor located at CGI building)
    • It mirrors the the real sensor at Eraste Landry (Adds a bias (+5%) to the result)
    • Can communicate to Azure IoT hub directly from device
    • Can communicate to the MQTT broker bridged to Azure Iot hub
